Blow had everything he wanted
but nothing he needed. He had money and success
but knew nothing of his past and had no family
but Joselito, his loyal friend from early in
his life. Working under the gang lord Westside
Purple, Blow lived in state were together they
ruled the city. That didn't sit easy with the
gang lord on the other side of town, Sluggs.
Being second place to Westside Purple for years
had made him a creature of rage. But there was
an uneasy peace between the two rivals, and
the streets maintained a status quo. That is,
until events were set in motion that spiraled
the underground of Florida City, FL, into an
all out gang war.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Underground President was truly a remarkable
achievement for myself and our production
team. We worked with limited access to
location, a very limited budget, volunteer
actors (who ended up doing a great job)
and only three weeks to complete the principle
photography. Considering all these limitations,
it is incredible that we ended up getting
the product that we got, which I feel will
capture the attention of the audience with
its visual detail, storytelling, character,
and production value. The film was also
intended to criticize the socio-political
structure of the streets and the tenuous
and often corrupt interplay between citizens
and law enforcement. I hope Underground
President is as much a pleasure to watch
as it was to create.
