A
foreign action film suffers from a massive
stroke and begins to lose its recollection
of image and sound. Its filmmaker and a resident
film surgeon attempt to save it via invasive
surgery. The narrative of the dying film
is thus revealed through incisions and splices
on the operating room table. The action flick's
plot concerns the betrayal of a beastly assassin
and his 'handler' by their recent employer,
a corrupt politician seeking retribution
against those who have kidnapped his beloved
daughter. The characters and events of the
film within the film are linked to the beats
in the operating room and more importantly to the process of film making and
the concept of memory (on celluloid and in the mind).
