The
Lost Radeau (thelostradeau.com)-
Saturday, March 31st, 5:00pm Downtown Buffalo/Theatre
District, Market Arcade Screen 2
Take
a journey into the depths of a cold mountain
lake and explore one of North America’s
most significant colonial treasures—the
52 ft. long Land Tortoise radeau, a National
Historic Landmark.
Lost for over two centuries, the shipwreck lay hidden and undisturbed
in the depths of Lake George, New York. Then 232 years later, the floating fortress
was found intact by local underwater explorers using state-of-the-art side scan
sonar.
It has been described as a time machine where one goes down foot
by foot, and travels back in time year by year.
This film interprets the significiant archaeological find and makes wonderful
use of raw and surprisingly vivid footage that the non-diving public would normally
never see.
