DIRECTOR STATEMENT

First Time Feature Director John Bohm is an elementary school teacher in East Los Angeles by day. On his off hours he directs films. He has loved film for as long as he can remember. It has been his dream to work as a director and make films that are not only interesting and compelling, but socially relevant

His film "Father G and The Homeboys" has been his life for the past 3 1/2 years-John teaches elementary school in the area where Fr. Greg Boyle's work is mainly centered-in East Los Angeles- where gang violence and drug selling is the norm. So many of the children Mr. Bohm teaches come from families where gangbanging has been generational. So educating the youngsters of these families becomes paramount to stopping the cycle of gangbanging/drug selling/violece.

Fr. Greg Boyle's work with the gangs of East Los Angeles is legendary-and with the advent of this film-John Bohm hopes that millions will see that we as a society can no longer throw at risk kids away! We must give these kids a chance to succed in life, a hope for something better.
